Dr. Hari Sankar Nayak

Dr. Hari Sankar Nayak is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cornell University and the International Rice Research Institute. He obtained a PhD in Agronomy from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in 2022.

His research focuses on nitrogen dynamics in agricultural landscapes, with a particular emphasis on South Asia. He has developed data driven, context dependent frameworks to identify pathways that improve nitrogen use efficiency and crop productivity, especially in rice based systems. His work highlights how targeted nitrogen interventions can simultaneously reduce inefficiencies and close yield gaps.
