Sustainable Fertilizer Academy

The Sustainable Fertilizer Academy (SFA) offers a dynamic and accessible e-learning experience tailored for fertilizer industry professionals, students, agronomists, and policymakers seeking to deepen their understanding of sustainability across the entire fertilizer value chain — from sourcing to production to fertilizer use on farms.

The Academy currently offers 37 classes across two levels:

  • Level 1 (Introductory): Covers the essential principles of sustainability in the fertilizer industry, including climate change, biodiversity, nutrient use efficiency, and regulatory trends.
  • Level 2 (Intermediate): Provides in-depth learning and is divided into two specialized tracks:
    • Product Stewardship: Focuses on sustainable fertilizer production, energy use, emissions, circularity, and decarbonization strategies.
    • Nutrient Stewardship: Explores best practices in sustainable nutrient use, precision agriculture, water quality, and farm-level implementation.

SFA content is available with subtitles in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish. The Academy is also being localized in collaboration with partners across Brazil, China, Qatar, Turkey and West Africa. To expand reach and accessibility, the SFA is currently developing microlearning formats and a refreshed website, with mobile-friendly learning options to better serve users in low-connectivity regions.

For more information on the academy, please contact our Sustainability Education Coordinator, Alexandra Dorison.

We are proud to accompany you in the further development of your professional skills – valuable skills that contribute to helping to feed the world sustainably.
