Agtec Innovations is a research organization that specializes in designing molecules for use as eco-friendly fertilizers. These are novel chemical compounds that are water-insoluble with nutrient release that is triggered by root activity. Our fertilizers are truly “Smart Fertilizers” that contain only plant nutrients.
Agtec’s Smart Fertilizers will not runoff or leach into waters, and they will not be fixed by soil constituents. This makes them super-efficient products that are effective at much reduced doses.
We have:
1. Smart Micronutrients that can be combined with or coated onto phosphates without loss of efficiency and will retain their full bioavailability.
2. SmartP, a phosphate fertilizer that is non-polluting and yield enhancing at reduced dosages compared to conventional phosphates. SmartP can be enriched with micronutrients.
3. Coating for DAP/MAP to improve its efficiency and reduce fixation losses.
4. Caged-Urea – a unique product where urea is trapped with a molecular cage that consists entirely of plant nutrients. This protects the urea from nitrification and reduces emissions. This is a eco-friendly alternative to urea which will also improve yields and is required is reduced rates. Caged-Urea is in the final stages of development.

US Environmental Protection Agency & US Department of Agriculture (EPA-USDA) Next Gen Fertilizer Innovations Challenge Award: A global selection identifying the most “innovative and affordable technologies to reduce environmental impacts of modern agriculture on our air, land, and water, while maintaining agricultural productivity and profitability”. My innovation which won this award is Caged-Urea nitrogen fertilizer. 2022
Lockheed Martin India Innovation Gold Medal: Prestigious award for innovative technologies with high commercialization potential. My technology was considered the highest ranking out of over 350 technologies submitted by IITs, IISc, Government Departments, Universities, Research Institutes and Private Sector. Assessed globally by University of Texas at Austin; organized by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). 2008
