Mineral Fertilizer Production and the Environment. Part 1. The Fertilizer Industry’s Manufacturing Processes and Environmental Issues

Following the publication of the first edition of Mineral Fertilizer Production and the Environment in 1996, the document has been extensively revised and expanded into two parts. The purpose of these publications is to provide guidelines on how environmental objectives might be achieved in the production of fertilizers by means of integrated industrial and environmental policies. Part 1 reviews the processes for fertilizer production and deals with the environmental issues such as pollution of air, water and soil, disposal of waste and decommissioning. We suggest that this publication is more technical and copies might be provided to relevant government departments, etc.
