Fault Lines and Green Lines: Energy, Food Security and the Geopolitics of the Sustainability Transition

Outcome report from an IFA/EBRD/ERM high-level roundtable at London Climate Action Week (June 2026), with senior leaders from McDonald's, Sysco, Unilever, Yara, ICL, GAFTA, Chatham House, WRI, FAIRR, and others.

Context: Geopolitical fractures — the Strait of Hormuz disruption, sanctions, export controls — are redrawing supply chains for energy, fertilizers, and food. Since nitrogen fertilizer is largely gas-derived, energy shocks travel directly into fertilizer supply and food prices, hitting the most vulnerable countries hardest.
