K+S AG announced as IFA’s 2022 Industry Stewardship Champion

Washington D.C., United States, November 01, 2022

The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) today presented its distinguished 2022 Industry Stewardship Champions gold medal for excellence in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) to K+S AG Germany.

The prestigious distinction was awarded to K+S AG’s Chairman of the Board, Dr. Burkhard Lohr, by IFA’s Chairman and Yara CEO, Svein Tore Holsether at the IFA Strategic Forum in Washington D.C.

Our members around the world continue to do a tremendous amount of work to ensure the health and safety of employees are protected and the environmental sustainability measures are effective and measurable. I congratulate K+S AG for its demonstrable commitment to the highest industry standards worldwide,” said IFA CEO and Director General Alzbeta Klein.

“We are honored to join this distinguished group of IFA’s Industry Stewardship Champions.  It required that our company participated in IFA’s production benchmarks and that K+S was Protect & Sustain certified by external auditors,” said Lohr.

Thirty six other previous recipients of the award were also commemorated for their continued commitment to outstanding workplace safety, health and environment management practices in 2022.

Since 2019, IFA has granted the Industry Stewardship Champions award to fertilizer companies that have participated in all of IFA’s most recent Safety Performance, Environmental Performance and Energy Efficiency and CO2 Emissions benchmarks. This includes IFA certified fertilizer companies and applies to members who have credible international certifications that are the building blocks of Protect & Sustain.
