Nunatak Biotech is an Argentine deep-tech agrobiotech company developing the Yamana® line of microbial solutions designed to integrate with, rather than replace, the fertilizers and crop nutrition inputs growers already use. Our products increase yield while addressing abiotic stress — salinity, degraded soils and cold — using a proprietary, genome-sequenced library of 1,200+ extremophile strains from Argentina’s austral region (Tierra del Fuego), backed by 20+ years of research. Field trials show yield gains of up to 10% in wheat and an average 4% uplift with a 17x ROI in soy. Our first product, Yamana Cold, is SENASA-registered (#61121-BIO), compatible with 35+ fungicidal seed treatments, and launched commercially in Argentina’s 2026 soy campaign — helping growers and input companies increase yield, cut costs, and move toward more sustainable practices without disrupting their existing input stack.

What collaboration are we looking for?
Our microorganisms solubilize phosphorus and unlock other nutrients, which makes phosphate-based fertilizers a natural fit. We see strong potential in co-development with producers such as OCP, particularly for Latin America, where Argentina and Brazil are our priority geographies. In parallel, we are looking to connect with fertilizer producers, blenders and distributors interested in compatibility trials or co-formulation alongside their existing lines, especially as we prepare our European market entry from 2027, starting with Spain and Italy. Beyond that, we are seeking field trial partners in new crops and geographies, as well as co-development partners for our Symbiosis Platform, which combines multiple microorganisms into a single formulation.
What solutions and opportunities are we offering?
We offer a field-validated, stackable microbial platform (the Yamana® line) proven compatible with 35+ fungicidal seed treatments and leading biologicals, allowing IFA members to add our solutions to existing input programs with minimal formulation risk. Through our Symbiosis Platform, we also offer co-development capacity to build custom multi-strain consortia and joint fermentation protocols, plus licensing access to our proprietary, genome-sequenced library of 1,200+ extremophile strains from Argentina’s austral region (Tierra del Fuego) for stress-tolerance applications.

Patent-pending — provisional U.S. patent filed for Yamana Terra (2025), with a multi-layer IP strategy combining patent filings and trade secrets across the Yamana® line
What regulatory approvals are you currently seeking, or have already been achieved?
Yamana Cold is SENASA-registered in Argentina (Reg. #61121-BIO), approved for seed and foliar application. Yamana Terra, our second product, is in an advanced stage of SENASA registration, currently undergoing the required efficacy trials. Additional products are in the registration pipeline.
