Maen F. Nsour

Dr. Maen F. Nsour is President and CEO of the Arab Potash Company (APC), since April 23, 2019. Before his current position he was Senior Advisor for Business Development and Strategies at APC, since September 2017. Dr. Nsour was a member of the Board of Directors of APC for the period between August 2013 and August 2017 representing the Social Security Investment Fund.

Dr. Nsour is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the following APC-owned or affiliated companies: Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company (KEMAPCO) since August 2013; Jordan-Bromine Company (JBC) since April 2016; Jordan Industrial Ports Company (JIPC) between December 2013 and June 2016, and again since February 2018; Numeira Mixed Salts Company since November 2018; and Japan Jordan Fertilizers Company since January 2020.

Dr. Nsour is member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Electricity Company representing the Social Security Investment Fund.

Dr. Nsour was General-Director and Deputy-Chairman of the Jordanian Social Security Corporation (SSC). He was also Acting President of the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF).

Dr. Nsour was Chief-of-Staff and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jordan. He was also a member of the Economic and Financial Ministerial Committee. In his capacity as Chief-of-Staff and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Nsour served as the principal adviser to the Prime Minister, offering strategic and tactical advice to the Prime Minister on policy matters and on the implementation of the government's strategic plans and programs.

Dr. Nsour was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jordan Investment Board (JIB). JIB was the government agency responsible for attracting investments, supporting exports, and creating an investment-conducive economic environment. JIB has, since October 2021, became Ministry of Investment.

Dr. Nsour was Senior Regional Programs Adviser at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York. He was also Director of Policy Planning and Economic Studies at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan.

Dr. Nsour taught for long periods of time at the university level, including at George Mason University, German Jordan University, and University of Jordan.

Dr. Nsour received a Ph.D. in public policy/political economy from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. He attended George Mason University as a Thomas Jefferson Fellow – a full scholarship awarded through the US Government. In 2010 George Mason University granted him the Alumni of the Year Award.
