Founded by scientists and ocean innovators, Blue Gea Group — composed of the private entities SOS Biotech and SOS Carbon together with the Terra & Mar Foundation — harvests and upcycles invasive seaweed into sustainable agricultural solutions that help farmers improve soil health, crop resilience, and productivity while reducing dependence on synthetic inputs. Through patented harvesting technologies and a blue biorefinery approach, the group extracts high-value bioactive compounds, mainly polyphenols and polysaccharides, from sargassum seaweed to develop natural biostimulants and soil amendments.

By converting problematic coastal biomass into valuable agricultural inputs, BlueGea creates a circular model that connects ocean restoration with climate-smart farming. Its marine-derived solutions are designed to improve rhizosphere activity, stimulate natural plant defense pathways, enhance nutrient bioavailability and water-use efficiency, and support soil regeneration under increasingly challenging climatic conditions.

Operating across the Caribbean and Atlantic basin, BlueGea Group combines scientific research, biotechnology, and environmental and social positive impact to deliver scalable solutions for regenerative agriculture and the blue bioeconomy.
