IFA welcomes the UN Secretary General’s ‘Global Compact’ initiative which it
hopes will contribute to greater understanding and enhance the cooperative
effort between governments and civil society to integrate the economic, social
and environmental goals of sustainable development.
The links on this web page lead to several initiatives by the fertilizer
industry which demonstrate its commitment to promote and implement such goals in
line with the activities called for under the Global Compact. In particular, the
productive cooperation between UNEP, the UN Environment Programme, and IFA is
worthy of note (see UNEP/IFA below).
