Ordinary members

Producers of nitrogen, phosphate, potassium, sulphur and compound fertilizers and of their raw materials and intermediates can become ordinary members.

Subscription rates for ordinary members
The basis of the subscription is the amount of N, P₂O₅ , K₂0 and S in external deliveries of all fertilizer materials (finished products, intermediates and raw materials) in the previous calendar year, with the exception of:

• amounts bought and sold as such, without further transformation or mixing
• amounts destined for non-fertilizer purposes

External deliveries include all deliveries to the domestic and export markets except amounts used exclusively for further production by the member company itself.

There is a minimum subscription of € 4,295 and a maximum subscription of € 64,355. There is also a regressive scale which reduces the basic rates for large tonnages.

Affiliate members

Affiliate members include not-for-profit international, regional and national associations of producers as well as research institutes and governmental organizations. Producers of fertilizer materials for non-fertilizer use also fall into this category, as do fertilizer or raw materials producers when their facilities are still in the project stage.

• Producers during the development stage of the project: € 4,295
• Producers of nutrients for non-fertilizer use: € 4,725
• Sales/purchasing organizations of ordinary members: € 1,070

Associate members

Manufacturers of trace element, soil conditioning or organic fertilizer products are eligible for associate membership, as are marketing organizations, traders, consultants, shippers, engineering companies, suppliers of materials, plant equipment and of other profit-making services to the fertilizer industry.

Subscription rates for fertilizer materials trading companies

• Sales turnover > US$100 million: € 16,095
• Sales turnover of US$25 million to US$100 million: € 10,730
• Sales turnover less than US$25 million: € 5,365

Subscription rate for other companies: € 6,435

Correspondent members

Correspondent members are retired senior executives of member companies or organizations that were members of the Association at the time of the applicant's retirement. Only individuals are eligible in this category, for which the subscription rate is € 140.

The subscription rates listed on this page reflect the outcome of the December 2011 IFA Council meeting.

Resigning from IFA

Members of all classes may withdraw from membership at any time by giving six months notice in writing of their intention to do so and upon payment of all sums due to the Association.

Becoming a member

Organizations interested in IFA membership must submit an application for review by IFA's Council. The Council considers applications twice a year.
