If you would like to apply for membership in the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), download the appropriate application form below. Each form includes instructions for returning the completed application to IFA.
Applications are submitted to the IFA Council twice a year: during the IFA Annual Conference (usually in May) and during the Enlarged Council Meeting (in November or December).
Please note
Members of all classes may withdraw from membership at any time by giving six months notice in writing of their intention to do so and upon payment of all sums due to the Association.
Which application form should be used?
- If your company produces nitrogen, phosphate, potassium, sulphur and/or compound fertilizers or their raw materials and intermediates, use the
form for ordinary members

- If your company has future plans to produce nitrogen, phosphate, potassium, sulphur and/or compound fertilizers or their raw materials and intermediates, but has not yet begun operations, use the
form for affiliate members
.
- If your company produces fertilizer materials for non-fertilizer use (for example phosphoric acid used in the food and beverage production), use the
form for affiliate members
.
- If your organization is a not-for-profit international, regional or national associations of producers, use the
form for affiliate members
.
- If your organization is a research institute, use the
form for affiliate members
.
- If your organization is a governmental ministry or agency, use the
form for affiliate members
.
- If your company manufactures trace elements, soil conditioners or organic fertilizer products, use the
form for associate members
.
- If your company is a marketing organization, a trader, a consultancy, a shipper, an engineering company, a supplier of materials, plant equipment or of other profit-making services to the fertilizer industry, use the
form for associate members
.
- If you are a senior executive who is about to retire (or has recently retired) from one of IFA's member companies or organizations, use the
form for correspondent members
. No other individuals are eligible for membership in the Association.
- If you are still unsure which form to use,
send a description of your activities
to IFA (include your web site address, if you have one).
